Become an Explorer, and take the next step to becoming a Firefighter
Now is the time to become an Explorer. Serve your community by providing the help needed in a time of crisis.
An Explorer’s job and responsibilities range from responding to calls such as: dwellings, automobile accidents, investigations, alarms, wires, and public assistance, however the main objective of the Explorer is aiding all firefighters on scene. The minimum age to become a volunteer firefighter Explorer is fifteen years old.
As an Explorer, you will be trained in Firefighting tactics and Fire Safety. You will be educated in the arts of Salvage & Overhaul, Ventilation, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, Rescue Tools, Ladders, Rope and Knots and will spend time at the Fire Academy. You will participate in the exact same training as fire fighters and feel like a part of the family.
